Wild Animal Park
Since the baby decided not to show up after all, we all went to the Wild Animal Park. When Bruce was working on the fence between the David's place and the neighbor's, he got free tickets from the neighbor who works at the park.
The weather was perfect and we had a great time. Tracy got to walk around and hopefully encourage the baby to make an appearance. I am now trying to add pictures in a different way, apparently I can only add 4 at a time. I'll keep trying.

Wednesday and Thursday 4/ 7 & 8
still working on this
So, it has warmed up nicely here in CA. Yesterday there was a neighborhood party with a blow up water slide which Breanna greatly enjoyed.

Today was very warm.

Tracy, Breanna and I went on a tour to the cross at Soledad Mountain. This is the one that someone wanted removed as a threat to the separation of church and state
They now have a wall of pictures of former military personal from past and present wars.

It's quite impressive and there is a great view of the cities from San Diego to LaJolla along with the ocean and bay.

Next we went to LaJolla (Little Jewel by the sea). We saw the seals and pelicans.
After that we went to the glider place and watched some parasailors try to get airborne.
Next we went to Tracy's doctor's appointment and I got to hear the baby's heartbeat!
She's progressing nicely and getting very close to delivery. Having mild but consistent contractions.
Then we got a call from Tracy's mom inviting all of us to a surprise birthday party for a friend of the family. We went there and David and Bruce came later. It was a huge success--the birthday girl was truly surprised. The food was fabulous and we tried most of everything. Most of it was Filipino and very different from what we're used to. Bruce especially liked the sashimi (raw Salmon) with wasabi sauce. I found it a bit too spicy but one of the men there told Bruce real men eat sashimi with wasabi sauce, so he did. Guess I don't have to.
They were very friendly and accepting of us, and I felt very tall.

California
Monday, April 5
The day started out cold and rainy, but eventually it warmed up a bit and Tracy, Breanna, Ari and I took a walk and fed some ducks.
Tuesday April 6
A very nice day. Tracy, Breanna, Ari and I went to Kit Carsen Park and visited Queen Califia's Magical Circle..JPG)
It's a huge circle surrounded by a wall with snakes on top, Everything is covered in colorful mozaic tiles and stones. Inside the circle is a maze of black and white tiles and mirrors.
In the center is a huge eagle on which Queen Califia sits and holds a bird. Under the eagle is a huge golden egg.

There are 8 totem poles and benches and other sculptures. It's really facinating, the more you look the more unusual aspects you see.
Later on we checked out the Farmer's Market in downtown Escondido--without Ari. Lots of interesting vendors with some unusual food items.

Easter
What a beautiful day in every way! We went to the traditional service at Emmanuel Faith Church. They started out with a bell choir, then a full orchestra, then the choir joined them and they did a medly of songs with the Easter story incorporated and the congregation joined in on two songs. It was really awesome! This was followed by an equally awesome sermon on thinking outside the box based on the story of Nicodemas. Very well done.
Bruce and I spent a quiet day at home while the rest of the Millers went to a couple of Easter parties. We did go out for icecream at Denny's later and I took Ari for a walk. That's when the Easter earthquake hit. Bruce felt it in the house, but I must have been on the road where there was a lot of traffic because I never felt a thing. Ari did act a little weird, but what's new?
Anyway, Tracy is still hanging in there, looking very much like an Easter egg ready to hatch!
